NCAA Basketball: Predicting NBA 2K19 ratings for incoming top-10 rookies
SF Kevin Knox, New York Knicks
The leading scorer for the Kentucky Wildcats last season, Kevin Knox brings a balanced game to the NBA. He has the ability to shoot it from distance, attack the basket with ferocity, and even has the length/athleticism to be a solid defender. At 6-foot-9, Knox has plenty of size to play on the perimeter and can be a difficult matchup for anyone to cover. However, he is still relatively raw overall and is oozing with potential to be a great player in the NBA.
Although Knox has a lot of skills that he still needs to work on, he has two major bonuses when it comes to his overall rating as a rookie in 2K. For one, he is going to get tons of publicity due to playing in New York. It may just be a myth that more “popular” players receive higher ratings but I am going with it nonetheless.
In addition, he also scored a ton of points and created many highlights at the NBA Summer League. Many people often overreact to Summer League in comparison to an entire college basketball season and that could be the case here. Knox is a good player, don’t get me wrong, but the NBA is a different animal from the minimal sample size in Vegas.
Predicted overall rating: 75.
