PG Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young took the college basketball world by storm last season. While playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, Young emerged as one of the best scorers and passers in the country. To be completely honest, the entire first two months of the college basketball season were basically the “Trae Young Show.” He performed at a high level night in and night out while pushing the Sooners to an NCAA Tournament berth nobody expected in the preseason.

While he did struggle with his shot in the second half of last season, it is still clear that he has the potential to be a stud at the next level with more talented teammates around him. Young is a walking headline and he has no trouble rising up from well behind the 3-point arc. Everyone has heard the comparisons to Steph Curry by this point and, while he is unlikely to reach those levels, he could play similarly to Curry in 2K, albeit with much lower ratings.

For starters, it has to be a lock that Trae Young receives both the “Limitless Range” and the “Dimer” badges. With these two together, Young could be one of the more exciting rookies to play with in this draft class. Due to his hype out of college, odds are that his 3-point rating is also higher than it likely will be by midseason. With this being said, running the pick-and-roll with Young and the high-rising John Collins could be extremely fun.

However, due to Young lacking overall strength and athleticism compared to other 6-foot-2 video game guards, he could play slightly down from his rating. Arguably the most important rating for Young heading into the release of 2K19 will be his moving 3-point shot. If this is well above-average as it might be, then the Oklahoma stud could be a dangerous 2K guard.

Predicted overall rating: 78 overall.
