James Wiseman is currently the top prospect in the 2019 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. Which of his final eight teams will be his landing spot.

With the 2018 NCAA Basketball recruiting class wrapped up, all the focus has now turned to the 2019 prospects. Several high-profile players have already committed to programs for the 2019-20 season. However, for the vast majority of players, the recruiting process is just now getting going.

One of them is James Wiseman, considered by every recruiting outlet to be either the 1st or 2nd-ranked player from the class (No. 1 per 247sports). At 6’10 and 210-pounds, he has the ability to play both frontcourt positions well and already has great strength and quickness for a big man.

Wiseman has a variety of ways to score, including a good post up game along with an ability to face up. His shooting range continues to expand and could be taking more three-pointers as a high school senior. What separates him from the rest of the class is that 7’5 wingspan of his, making his potential as a big man limitless.

The lefty from Memphis, Tennessee will have a very scrutinized recruitment. And with his latest announcement via Twitter, things are starting to get clearer in terms of his options:

This is of course very early in the process. And although Duke’s name isn’t part of the final eight they should never be counted out. The biggest surprise is the local program Tennessee missing out on the cut. The Volunteers are on track to have a historically good season and their success might have given them an edge.

Still, there are eight teams (for now) vying for his services. For this piece, I’ll be looking at the potential programs (in alphabetical order)  that Wiseman would be going to if he commits. As the reader, you can decide which situation would be the ideal fit for him.
