Loudon Love of Wright State Basketball was one of the best freshmen last season. What will he do as a sophomore with the Raiders in 2018-19?

The Horizon League always makes for interesting regular season basketball. The conference, however, is extremely top-heavy with two teams who are going to vie for the top spot. One of those teams the Wright State Raiders are fresh off an NCAA tournament experience and are now looking for a conference regular season championship. They will have their work cut out for them, however as the Raiders will have a target on their back.

The Raiders and their head coach Scott Nagy bring back an experienced team. The team gained valuable experience last year in their run to the NCAA tournament. One player on the roster is a horizon league superstar in waiting. Sophomore center Loudon Love is looking to stake his claim, as the best player in the league. Especially after a dynamite freshman campaign. Love is the type of player who can lock down the paint and give your defense an identity.

The Raiders enter the season pegged by some to win the Horizon league outright. The other team in the conference who is going to be gunning for the top spot is Northern Kentucky. As mentioned above winning this conference is doable for Wright State especially if they can win the games against Northern Kentucky and trendy sleeper pick Illinois-Chicago. Rest assured that coach Nagy is going to have his guys ready to play behind Love.

Unfortunately for this conference, the winner of the conference tournament is the only team who is going to make the tournament. In the tournament, the Horizon League tends to get an unfavorable matchup, and a low seed in the annual event. Will Love potentially help change the fortunes of the Horizon League?
