In just two seasons, Terry Taylor has become a star for Austin Peay Basketball. Can he carry the Governors up the ladder of the Ohio Valley next season?

Every once in a while a transcendent player arrives on campus. That player goes on to set records at their school with relative ease. In the Ohio Valley conference, the two teams who have the players belong to powerhouse programs Belmont and Murray State. With those two teams being at the head of the conference it is no surprise that these programs usually place a stranglehold on the talent in this conference.

A new team hopes to make their presence known in the Ohio Valley this year. That team is the Austin Peay Governors. The Govs as they are dubbed, have a great team returning from a team that won 19 games last year. They can compete with the big dogs in this conference. Austin Peay and head coach Matt Figger hope to make their move, all while star forward Terry Taylor becomes a household name.

Taylor is entering his true sophomore year, and he is a budding superstar. It has been a long time since Austin Peay has been a relevant team on the basketball landscape. This year may change especially if the sophomore forward plays like he did last year. The forward is going to have the attention of every coach in the conference as he is the best player on the floor most nights.

Coach Figger hopes that Taylor is going to be able to improve on his numbers, as the Govs did lose their leading scorer, and part of a duo made up with Taylor. The Govs will have enough on their team to still make noise in the league but whether or not they improve upon last year after losing one 15 points per game scorer remains to be seen.
