Even with Collin Sexton gone, Alabama Basketball still has some potential NBA Draft prospects. Here are three in particular who could make the pros.

Coach Avery Johnson has spent many years working in the NBA around historic NBA coaches. Some would argue that he became one himself after he won a Coach of the Year award in 2006. Now that he has been a coach at the Capstone, he is in an ideal spot to prepare Tide players to make it to the next level. Few Alabama players play in the NBA, but few have been brought in during the Johnson era.

The biggest name that has gone through Johnson’s program has been Collin Sexton. The recently drafted Cleveland Cavalier changed the college landscape in his sole year at UA. Sexton was definitely going to be drafted, but Coach Johnson prepared him to be a star in his rookie year.

Sexton also brought tons of scouts to every game he appeared in. As they watched Sexton attack and defend in Coleman, his teammates performed as well. They might not have been the spotlight, but they certainly caught glances from scouts. It would be insane not to at least continue scouting these guys.

As Coach Johnson continues to recruit new talent, more players are bound to be drafted highly. In fact, it might happen this year. In my eyes, there are three players that could declare for the draft this year that would receive great consideration. None has the certainty of Collin Sexton, but they still have a lot of promise. They might not declare, but here’s my expectation assuming they do.
