To counteract the losses of several top players, Big East basketball is welcoming a few highly touted freshman poised to make immediate impacts.

Even though it was (for the most part) expected, Big East basketball experienced a tumultuous offseason this summer. Many of the top talents in the conference graduated following this past season and a few others elected to cut their college careers short in hopes of starting their professional careers. Because of this, many pundits are expecting the conference to have a down season as a whole in 2018-19. In order to recover from these losses, teams in the league are going to need their newcomers to provide big-time seasons.

In terms of recruiting, only one Big East basketball school landed a top-10 recruiting class in the country and that was Villanova. However, that does not mean that the conference struggled on the recruiting circuit. In fact, several other schools landed top-100 recruits and four classes ranked in the top-40 of the nation. With that being said, though, the conference will need to rely on this youth to reach new heights this upcoming year.

Here is a look at 10 of the recruits who could potentially be the most impactful freshman in the conference during this upcoming campaign.

Others considered: Josh LeBlanc (Georgetown), Saddiq Bey (Villanova), Sam Froling (Creighton), Christian Bishop (Creighton), Flynn Cameron (DePaul), and others. Please keep in mind that my list of “under-the-radar” incoming Big East freshmen is also coming out this week.
