With the loss of Joel Berry II North Carolina Basketball should be able to rally the troops and still manage. Here are three ways the Tar Heels can still do that.

The North Carolina basketball team is a program filled with prestige. From Michael Jordan to Vince Carter, players have come and went that is near and dear to the hearts of Tar Heels fans.

Recent big departures that are memorable are the departures of Marcus Paige and Justin Jackson. Paige was a great four-year player for the Tar Heels and Jackson was a four-year player that was part of the 2016-17 title team.

The Tar Heels have lost another great player in Joel Berry II. Berry was a four-year player that was All-Tournament in 2015-16 and 2016-17. He was also named the tournament’s most outstanding player after the Tar Heels won the 2016-17 NCAA tournament.

Berry was the point guard and big time 3-point threat on the team. What was so great about him was his efficiency from the field. He shot 42 percent from the field, 47 percent from 2-point range, and 36 percent from 3-point range.

In Berry the Heels are losing their number one scorer from last year. They still return players like Luke Maye and Kenny Williams who will help the team greatly.

He is 17th in the ACC for his career in points produced per game with 11.9. He is 10th in the ACC in career games played with 144 and is 12th in the ACC in career minutes played with 3973.

With that being said the loss of Joel Berry is a great one.

What we have to know that we are dealing with one of the most legendary programs in college basketball. The Tar Heels have a plan in place to still be one of the most dominant programs in the country this year.
