NCAA Basketball: Ranking the 25 best college hoops uniforms
By Brian Rauf
20. Baylor’s black
Baylor’s all-neon jerseys might be the worst in the sport, but having that neon serve as a secondary color on their black uniforms look much, much better – and are much easier for your TV to handle.
19. Oregon’s black
Like Baylor’s Oregon’s black-and-bright-yellow uniforms pop and are appealing to the eye. But they get the edge over Baylor because of the wings on their shorts.
18. Kansas State’s purple
The “K-State” across the chest is a cool statement that really sets Kansas State’s uniforms apart, and it very well with the right combination of purple and black.
17. Iowa State’s white
Crisp, white uniforms with perfect red trim and a nice dash of yellow across the chest. Yet, these uniforms are made by the red stripes that create the shape of a cyclone down the side of the uniform.
16. Michigan’s maize
Another iconic uniform, the colors work extremely well together and are enhanced by the trim. Just a great look all the way around.
15. Gonzaga’s white
Many are bigger fans of Gonzaga’s black “Zags” uniforms, but I’m not a fan of that awkward combination of black and blue. On the flip side, these white uniforms pop with the red and blue stripes. The font – blue letters with the red stripe in the middle – also adds a nice, distinctive touch.
14. Seton Hall’s white
These are simple yet effective. The same blue-and-white striped trim around both the collar and shorts creates continuity throughout the uniform, which is perfectly tied together by the cursive writing.
13. Xavier’s dark gray
This is a color that almost looks like it shines, and the white name/numbers only adds to this sleek look. Plus, the X on the shorts is a great touch for the school affectionately known as X.
12. Kansas’ red
MAKE THESE MORE COMMON KANSAS! The Jayhawks wore red on senior night this past season and – maybe it was just the shakeup from the traditional blue they wear – but these look so crisp with the blue accent.
11. Texas Tech’s gray
Speaking of sleek uniforms, these are phenomenal. The white name/numbers pop on the gray with the red borders and the two-toned lines around the collar and shorts are a Texas Tech staple.
