Marquette Golden Eagles

Of the teams on this list, Marquette is the only one that has not been a title contender in each of the past few seasons. Yet, it is not a good idea to rule out head coach Steve Wojciechowski on the recruiting cycle. Despite the fact that the Golden Eagles have struggled a bit, especially defensively, under Coach Wojo, nobody should dispute the idea that the program has consistently brought in some top-tier talent.

In recent years, Henry Ellenson and Joey Hauser jump out as top recruits who have committed to Marquette but they are not alone as excellent commits for the program. In addition, Coach Wojo has had plenty of success with guards in the past couple of years. Most notably, Andrew Rowsey and Markus Howard represent elite scorers at the guard position who have put on the Marquette uniform.

If Mannion were to join the Golden Eagles, he would immediately slide into the starting lineup next to the previously mentioned Howard, who will be a senior in 2019-20. With that duo running the show for the team, it would be hard to find a better backcourt in the country. In addition to the potential offensive firepower from that duo, Mannion’s defense would also help to offset the idea that Howard struggles on that end of the floor.
