North Carolina Basketball will be trying to replace the big shoes of Joel Berry II. Here is a look at three options to replace Berry.

Replacing Joel Berry II will be tough but North Carolina basketball has been proven to be able to reload. The Tar Heels have consistently been in the Final Four and have always contended in the ACC thanks to head coach Roy Williams.

They have been the regular season ACC champion eight of William’s 15 seasons and have never missed the NCAA tournament during his tenure. With players graduating and going to the NBA, the need for new incoming players and returning players to step up is always key.

With the one and done rule now in effect for the NBA the college elite can now assemble the best high school players on their team. Teams like Duke and Kentucky have taken full advantage of this. Kentucky has had players like Anthony Davis and Devin Booker while Duke has had players like Jabari Parker and Justise Winslow.

After having a national title season in 2016-17 the Tar Heels were only able to make it to the second round where they eventually lost to the Texas A&M Aggies last year. While winning a national title is not always going to happen every year, the ability to recruit the best players gives teams a great chance to win a title every year.

Incoming freshmen Nassir Little, who is a McDonald’s All American is North Carolina’s one and done player that will have a great impact.

Replacing Berry may come from an impact freshman or it could be from one of their returning players.
