Rechon Black

Rechon “Leaky” Black has the length that can cause problems for smaller guards. At 6’8 he has a “unique” skill set in which he has the size but is a pass-first player.

He is already being compared to Theo Pinson and what he did for the Tar Heels as a point forward. Pinson was able to be a playmaker for the Tar Heels and start their offense while rebounding and scoring while he was playing a wing position. The guard was able to do it all for Carolina. He averaged 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals his senior season.

In a position-less era of basketball, the more players you have that can put the ball on the floor and start your offense or playmakers you have the better.

Black will help the Tar Heels run the floor and he can pass from one baseline to the other which is a great skill set to have. On the defensive end, he can use his size and length to create problems for the opposition.

The knock on Black is that he is not able to shoot well yet and that is what Berry was so great at so he might not be the option you want right now and the fact he is not experienced in the college game does not help either.
