Forward CJ Walker has risen to the top-50 of various recruiting sites for the 2019 class. With five teams vying for his services, who has the best chance of landing him?

When it comes to the better forwards of the 2019 recruiting class, CJ Walker (not the former Florida State starting point guard who transferred to Ohio State this offseason) has staked his claim to be among the top.

Currently listed at 6’8, Walker has continued to grow his game from inside the paint area while still keeping the skills he learned out on the perimeter as a traditional small forward. The 200-pound versatile athlete plays above the rim and can score in a variety of ways.

What makes Walker such a sought-after prospect is that he fits the modern-day game so well. He can play the 3,4, and even the five-spot on the court on offense and defense and will impose matchup problems for the opponents. Coaches can use his versatility to their advantage while presenting different ways for the recruit to get on the floor and make a positive contribution to the team. While it’s true that his shooting needs some work, Walker projects to be an instant contributor right out the gate who could become a college star before it’s all said and done.

After announcing his final 12 teams earlier in the summer, Walker has now shortened it even further to five – Arizona, Florida, LSU, Miami, and Oregon. All schools present something different for the Orlando native, so it’ll be interesting to see where he lands in the fall.

Here’s a look at each potential fit for the four-star forward if he decides to commit there for the 2019 class.
