UConn Basketball: Goals for Jalen Adams going into 2018-19
After having a career year in terms of stats Jalen Adams is coming back to UConn Basketball for his senior year. How will he perform in his final season?
UConn basketball last year was not able to win the AAC tournament and they were not able to make it to the NCAA tournament. That resulted in head coach Kevin Ollie being fired. The new head coach is Dan Hurley.
Hurley will be getting his star guard in Jalen Adams next year after he decided to come back for his senior season. Adams will try and build on a season where he averaged his highest career points per game (18.1).
According to the Hartford Courant, Adams said:
“… My legacy as a UConn Husky is important to me. I am more determined than ever to live up to that expectation for the university and our amazing fans.”
“That being said, I would like to announce I am returning to UConn Nation for my senior year.”
You can make the inference that Adams was talking about the lack of team success last year. Not making the NCAA tournament and not winning the AAC after having a successful season individual wise has to have left a bad taste in his mouth.
For UConn, their goals for next year will be to make the NCAA tournament and try to win the AAC tournament. That will come down to winning games in the regular season. Adams will be a big part of that and he will have to step into a role as a leader since he is a senior and the best player on the team.
Here are some goals for Adams in the upcoming season.
