23. Arizona State Sun Devils

Frontcourt players: De’Quon Lake, Vitaliy Shibel, Romello White, Zylan Cheatam, Mickey Mitchell, Kimani Lawerence, Uros Plavsic (No. 111 recruit) and Taeshon Cherry (No. 38 recruit)

Last season it was the trio of seniors (Tra Holder, Shannon Evans, and Kodi Justice) who led the Sun Devils offense. The other double-digit scorer was White, who also led the team with 7.1 rpg. He’ll lead what will be the strong point for Arizona State next season, a rather deep frontcourt.

Lake also was productive as a freshman, with seven points and five rebounds a night. Those were similar stats of Mitchell, who finally found a home with the Sun Devils after bouncing around to start his college career. More depth comes with Cheatham, who sat out last season after transferring in from San Diego State. He adds defense for a team who has struggled in that department.

The best player in this entire group might be Cherry, an explosive freshman who could possibly lead the team in scoring if things go really well for him. The 6’8 forward can play both the three and four-spots and provides immediate offense for Arizona State.

There may not be much star power in the frontcourt when it’s all said and done but the potential collective contributions will make them formidable, as well as one of the few teams on the list who can take an injury without crashing.
