There are a lot of non-conference games involving  Atlantic 10  Basketball to mark in your calendars in this upcoming season. These are the 5 that are shaping up to be the very best.

There were a lot of memorable A10 games in the non-conference slate last season. Rhode Island beat Seton Hall in a nail-biter, UMass handled Providence and Georgia, VCU put a beating on Cal, and St. Louis pulled an upset over Virginia Tech. Those are just a few examples of games that were worth the wait to see. This season, there’s once again no shortage of Power 6 competition on the schedules, and a better, deeper A10 than the one we watched last year should secure even more victories against them.

In terms of how I came up with this list, these aren’t necessarily the 5 games featuring the best opponents that A10 teams will play, but instead the 5 games that will be important or exciting for a variety of reasons. Some are statement games that will teach us something about where the team stands, some are rivalry games, and some will be exciting for the sheer amount of collective talent that will be on the floor. It’s possible that there are games on schedules that haven’t been released yet that will deserve a spot on this list. For example, Davidson’s schedule is still unknown. I had to just choose from the pool of games that are known by the public at this point. There were still plenty of hard cuts.
