Anthony Walker is a four-star forward prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. With eight finalists, which college team is in the best position to land him?

When it comes to NCAA Basketball recruiting, there are different tiers of prospects. There are the 30 “five-star” guys that usually the powerhouse programs only get. Then there are another 80-100 players that are listed as “four-stars” that are divided amongst the other power conference schools.

The last important group is the next 50 or so players that are considered high 3-star or low 4-star players. These kinds of guys can make the biggest impact, as they’re most likely four-year scholarship players who can make a huge difference for their respective program. They also tend to be undervalued as high school prospects and overplay their rankings.

A good example could be Anthony Walker, currently considered a four-star overall recruit by 247SportsComposite. Originally from Baltimore Maryland, the 6’8 forward plays at Brewster Academy, a prestigious high school basketball program in New Hampshire where some of the best northeast athletes go to play.

He’s a versatile power forward with great athleticism and length that allows him to be a defensive anchor who can guard multiple positions. His offense needs more work but he has a strong mid-range game with a developing long-range shot. Anthony can play the 3,4, and even the 5-spot if necessary.

With senior season of high school coming up, the recruitment process is heating up. Anthony has recently announced his final eight schools, with official visits already underway.

So which one will he end up at? I’ll take a look at the projected 2019-20 rosters of each program while giving my opinion about the potentially available minutes and winning prospects for Walker not only as a freshman – for all four years.
