Boston College Eagles

While much of the talk of BC Basketball has surrounded the backcourt of Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson, they also have a decent starting frontcourt of Steffon Mitchell and Nik Popovic, who were both underclassmen last season. Both will return for this upcoming season, as well as top-75 small forward recruit Jairus Hamilton.

For the 2019-20 season, the Eagles should contend for the NCAA Tournament as long as Bowman returns for his senior season. The frontcourt will be loaded, especially if Walker joins. Immediate playing time won’t be plentiful but head coach Jim Christian continues to build a program that can contend in the ACC for the future. It would be a good bet if he chooses Boston College.

Illinois Fighting Illini

After losing all the key frontcourt pieces this offseason besides Kipper Nichols, head coach Brad Underwood and the Illini are rebuilding with the recruiting classes. They bring in three-star forwards Samba Kane, Anthony Higgs, and Giorgi Bezhanishvill in the 2018 class but more work needs to be done before Illinois can truly compete in the Big Ten.

Walker would be a key piece in the program’s rebuilding efforts and it’s important for the school to get a quality player outside the Chicago area, in order to expand their recruiting base. And if top-30 prospect Ayo Dosumnu comes back for another year, the Illini with Walker can get back into tournament contention.
