Butler Basketball: Analyzing the newest Bulldogs heading into 2018-19

Butler basketball has four (three eligible for 2018-19) newcomers joining the team this season. How will these players impact the program?

Player development is extremely important for just about every single program in the nation. Considering not every program can be a Duke or Kentucky on the recruiting trail, developing under-the-radar gems can go a long way in terms of achieving success. In regards to Butler basketball, there have been very few programs as adept at player development over the course of this century. Regardless of who has been at the helm of the program, Butler has seemingly always pushed underrated recruits to the peak of their potential.

Heading into the 2018-19 campaign, head coach LaVall Jordan is bringing in four new players. Although only three of these players will be eligible to see minutes during their first years on campus, each of them can help the team right away in their own ways. Whether this is in the form of scoring, additional depth support, or another fearsome big man in practice, these newcomers can definitely make an impact in one way or another.

The Bulldogs project as a very deep team this year and this is due to the presence of a ton of returning talent as well as these incoming transfers and recruits. So, as we look ahead to this upcoming season, let’s take a peek at what each newcomer might bring to the program.
