Big East basketball season is approaching in a hurry. So, with the games drawing closer, let’s take a look at some preseason award predictions.

College football season has started and that only means one thing: Basketball season is nearly upon us. With less than two months to go until the first games, it is time to start seriously previewing the 2018-19 college hoops season. In regards to one of the top conferences in the country, Big East basketball fans are certainly eager to see their teams take the floor once again this season.

Even though some of the best players in the conference departed this offseason either due to graduation or declaring for the NBA Draft, there are still plenty of talented players left. Many are projecting that the Big East will be in for a down season compared to usual standards but the conference will still be quite strong regardless.

Having said this, there are several players who will be in the running for individual awards this season. Of course, it is impossible to predict which players will have the strongest breakout campaigns but it still worth discussing who might be the preseason favorites for some awards.

Before jumping into my preseason awards predictions for this year, here is a quick review of my preseason rankings from earlier in the summer: Villanova » Butler » Marquette » Providence » Xavier » Georgetown » St. John’s (without Heron) » Seton Hall » Creighton » DePaul.

Now, without any further introduction, here are my preseason Big East award predictions. (I did not predict sixth man of the year as rotations are far from set.)
