Indiana basketball looks poised for a big year in 2018-19. Here are a few keys for success in Archie Miller’s second year as head coach.
Thanks to many factors, Indiana basketball looks poised for a strong campaign in 2018-19. Head coach Archie Miller is entering his second year at the helm of the program and, in addition to a group of steady returning talents, he is bringing in an elite recruiting class to the national stage. With one of the most talented rosters in the entire Big Ten, the Hoosiers have a mix of proven veterans and top-notch youngsters.
After finishing just 16-15 (9-9 Big Ten) last season, it may be difficult to accept that IU will skyrocket up the conference rankings but it is definitely possible. Coach Miller is off to a solid start as the leader of the program and it is reasonable to believe that the team will continue to grow under his leadership in Year 2. Even though the program had to say goodbye to some excellent seniors this offseason (Robert Johnson, Josh Newkirk, Freddie McSwain, Collin Hartman), the roster is still fairly well-stocked in terms of experience and talent.
As we look ahead to this upcoming campaign, there are a few aspects of the game that could end up as keys to success for the Hoosiers. If the team is able to capitalize on all of these keys, then an NCAA Tournament bid could be in the cards.
