Kentucky Basketball: 5 keys for a successful 2018-19 campaign

Kentucky basketball once again has a stacked roster. In regards to this coming season, what facets of the game will be most important for the Wildcats?

Kentucky basketball is one of the best programs in the country year after year. Thanks to consistently excellent recruiting and a top-notch coach in John Calipari, the Wildcats have been named a preseason top-11 team in the country in each of the last nine seasons. In addition, the program has also achieved a fair amount of postseason success during this time frame, reaching four Final Fours and cutting down the championship nets on one of those occasions.

Heading into this coming season, Kentucky basketball looks poised for a monster season. With a few solid returning players and an excellent graduate transfer joining the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the nation, the Wildcats should be a lock for a preseason top-5 ranking. Coach Calipari’s roster is absolutely stacked from top to bottom and there is no reason to believe that the team will not be on the short list of national title contenders.

Yet, with the 2018-19 season quickly approaching, teams around the nation are focusing on their strengths and improving their weaknesses. In regards to Kentucky basketball, there are plenty of questions facing the program due to the number of new faces donning the blue and white. So, with this being said, here is a look at five potential keys to success for the team.
