NCAA Basketball: Predicting all 32 regular-season conference champions for 2018-19

The NCAA Basketball season is just around the corner. Here are predictions for the best team in all 32 conferences, along with their biggest competitors.

After Villanova cut down the nets to end the 2017-18 season, a ton of action occurred during this past offseason. There were the NBA Draft decisions, late pickups on the recruiting class, and finally the countless number of transfers.

Those moves had a huge impact on the upcoming campaign, with some news solidifying certain programs as certified threats for 2018-19, while also dropping teams down a peg after losing a key piece.

While unforeseen early transfers and suspensions are always part of the equation, we as fans have 99% of the information needed to make informed predictions about who’ll be good and who won’t be for this upcoming season. It’s more important though to focus on who’s most likely to be successes going forward.

The purpose of this article is to take a look at each D-1 conference and predict who’ll win the regular-season title this upcoming season. It’s true that there’s no automatic bid for winning the regular season but there still are plenty of benefits to being No. 1 before March.

With the exception of Washington and the Pac-12 in 2012, the regular-season champ from the power conferences has been assured a spot in the Big Dance. And depending on which mid-major league, the best team in the regular season gets to in fact host the conference tournament, giving them a big edge. And two of the four Final Four participants (Kansas and Loyola-Chicago) were regular-season champs in their own right.

So who’s the preseason favorite in all 32 conferences? There will be some obvious clear-cut choices but they’ll also be some surprises. Find out now how things look in each league.
