After making the NCAA Tournament last season. St. Bonaventure Basketball loses their top offensive players. Can the Bonnies still contend for a bid in 2018-19?

Olean, NY is a town located on the Allegheny River in Southern New York. Once home to numerous oil rigs, the quiet quaint town is anything but quiet during the College Basketball season. The St. Bonaventure Bonnies have a passionate and boisterous fan base who knows College Basketball and demands a winner.

A season ago the Bonnies provided the residents of Olean a season to remember. The small school who is a member of the Atlantic 10 conference made an unexpected run to the NCAA tournament and was on the cusp of the sweet 16 a year ago. The Bonnies were led by a duo of backcourt stars who have now moved on. That duo put up impressive numbers last season and were clutch down the stretch and in the NCAA tournament a year ago.

The Bonnies are entering a new era under head coach Mark Schmidt. St. Bonaventure lost virtually all their scoring from a year ago. Coach Schmidt is going to need to do a tremendous coaching job this year with his young roster. The conference is a better conference from top to bottom this year, and the Bonnies reasonably should finish in the middle tier of this conference. One thing that can be guaranteed, is the Bonnies are still going to be tough to beat on their home floor in Olean.
