Coach Miller’s squad won’t have quite as challenging as a 2017-18 non-conference slate that saw the Spartans visiting a quality trio of ACC teams: Virginia, Wake Forest, and NC State. UNCG will, on the other hand, will face off against a couple SEC teams in Kentucky and LSU. Obviously, a win in Lexington would be enormous, but even a win at LSU would huge for any push at an at-large bid.

Games against UNCW, Louisiana Tech, and Elon are ones that should be testers. Other than that, there’s not a ton else that pops out about this non-conference slate, but it should be strong enough to prepare the Spartans going into conference play.
