It may still be the offseason but NCAA Basketball programs were busy on the recruiting front this past week. MSU and Tennesee were among the winners.

Recruiting is heating up across the nation. Class of 2019 players are committing to their respective future NCAA basketball programs as the upcoming season creeps closer. Practices are underway leading into the 2018-19 campaign and coaching staffs are not only paying attention to their current rosters but also how they might be able to secure future talents to keep their programs relevant and competitive.

Because of this, several programs posted extremely strong weeks on the recruiting trail, notching commitments from multiple players or adding a potentially program-changing recruit. All of these programs should be considered “winners” in regards to recruiting and this will break down a few of those. Before jumping in, here is a short summary of the top commitments from the week (only top-100 players listed).

Top-rated 2019 commitments over the past week (Sept. 19 – Sept. 25):

  • No. 14 Josiah James to Tennessee
  • No. 32 Rocket Watts to Michigan State
  • No. 42 Martynas Arlauskas to Gonzaga
  • No. 72 David Johnson to Louisville
  • No. 74 Isaiah Wong to Miami
  • No. 93 Victor Iwuakor to Oklahoma
  • No. 100 Jalen Hill to Oklahoma

Now, without further ado, let’s jump into some of the biggest recruiting winners this weekend. Of course, several others were considered and, at the core, this is an opinion piece. Many programs posted strong weeks and were definitely winners on the recruiting trail and these were a few of those. (Note: All recruiting rankings found via 247Sports Composite.)
