The Baylor Bears struggled for much of last season. Despite losing a lot of talent expect the Bears to be competitive again this season.

Baylor Basketball struggled when Manu Lecomte was out due to injury and seemed to be a totally different team with him on the floor. They’re gonna need a guy to step up this season into an offensive leader with Lecomte graduating this past year.

Baylor has players capable of doing so but they’re gonna need everybody to step up if they want to be an NCAA tournament team. Last season they weren’t a tournament team so it’s gonna be tough for this year’s team to do so.

The Bears are coming off an NIT appearance after being one of the first four teams out of the NCAA tournament. They lost at home in the 2nd round to Mississippi State 77-78. They finished the season with a 19-15 record, including an 8-10 record in conference.

The team will be without one of their key players this season as Jake Lindsay will miss the season due to injury. He will redshirt the year and be ready to play his senior season during the 2019-20 season.

They did lose their main offensive weapons but they do bring back some key players. A few of their returning guys started at least double-digit games last season.

They did a good job recruiting bringing in some talented freshman who will have an impact. They also snagged a couple of Junior College commits who could have a role on this team.

Baylor isn’t expected to be a threat to make the NCAA tournament next season. If these guys come out and play the way they’re capable of, expect them to be playing in at least some sort of postseason play.
