Baylor Basketball: 2018-19 season preview for the Bears
By Chris Kern
Outlook
The Baylor Bears are a candidate to make the NCAA tournament even though they didn’t make it last season. The NIT is more realistic but they have the potential to do more.
It’s gonna be a different type of Baylor team than we’re used to. This team will still play very tough like past teams but with so many new faces this team will have a different identity.
They will continue to grow on both sides of the ball. If they can gel by conference play then they’ll have a shot at a very good season. The Big 12 is still a very good conference but it seems to be a down year compared to the past couple of seasons.
The Kansas Jayhawks are still legit and the Kansas State Wildcats are looking very good but other than that it is very unclear. The conference had nine teams on Selection Sunday that had a shot at making the tourney but this year it might be closer to seven.
Baylor will battle all season long against whoever they play. Expect the Bears to compete and battle for a spot in the big dance.
