Big 12 Basketball is thought of as one of the best conferences each year. This season will be no different. So many talented players have a chance to lead their team to greatness.

Last season in Big 12 Basketball there was a hotly contested battle for the annual Big 12 Player of the Year Award. The main contenders were all point guards, including Jevon Carter (West Virginia), Keenan Evans (Texas Tech), Devonte’ Graham (Kansas) and the freshmen sensation Trae Young (Oklahoma).

In the end, it was the Jayhawk senior who came away with the award, after leading his team to yet another Big 12 Regular Season title. Along with Graham though, the other three playmaking guards have moved on to the next level.

Many talented players return from last season while some newcomers may have a shot at this award as well. It is worth noting the Kansas State big man Dean Wade is the only returning All-Big 12 first team member from a year ago. While his teammate, point guard Barry Brown is the only returning player from All-Big 12 second team.

We’ve got a few guys set to have huge years who are the favorites to win the award. We also got a few sleepers who could be in the mix if their teams have good enough seasons. Here are four frontrunners as well as four under the radar guys who could bring home the hardware in March.
