Vermont has been one of the best teams in the America East Conference for a long time. They lost a few key seniors but they’re still a very good basketball team.

This team will have a different look than past teams. Those teams were experienced while this team does not. There’s gonna be a learning curve for this group but they should be ready to roll by the time conference play rolls around.

The Catamounts had a very good 2017-18 campaign. They finished with a 27-8 record including a 15-1 conference record. They were upset by UMBC in the conference tournament title game on the Jarius Lyles game-winning three-pointer which kept them out of the NCAA tournament.

Due to being the regular season champions in the America East Conference, they were selected to play in the NIT. They got rolled in the first round, losing by nearly 30 to a very talented Middle Tennessee squad.

Despite not making the NCAA tournament as they had planned on it was still a successful season for Vermont. They were a really good basketball team and dominated their conference as they do often.

They will look to continue that success despite having lost a few key players. They’re gonna need some underclassmen to step up if they want to participate in postseason basketball.
