Kevin Keatts so far has been a master recruiter for NC State Basketball. It’s gone up a level now, with the commitment of top-35 guard Jalen Lecque.

Kevin Keatts was hired as the new coach of the NC State Wolfpack before the 2017 season began. Keatts took over for former head man Mark Gottfried who had an exciting tenure in Raleigh. Gottfried did make the NCAA tournament four times in his five years with the school, along with two Sweet 16 appearances. When the FBI investigation into the sport revealed possible transgressions at the university that would have happened under Gottfried. The job for Keatts only became harder. Last season amidst the FBI Investigation and a virtually revamped roster the Wolfpack returned to the NCAA tournament

Now as Keatts tries to build for future classes and keep pace with the rest of the ACC. Including their Blue Blood rivals who share a state with the Wolfpack. The Wolfpack just landed Keatts most important recruit since he has been in Raleigh. Jalen Lecque has decided to play for the Wolfpack and show the ACC why he is the most talented point guard in the 2019 class. The guard currently plays for prep school powerhouse Brewster Academy. After spending the summer running in the EYBL for the NY Rens Lecque is more than ready to make an immediate impact in the ACC as soon as he arrives on campus in Raleigh.

NC State won this recruiting battle over Tennessee, Oregon, and UCLA. Lecque is a great player to build your class around. Anytime a new coach can land a top-30 player who some have dubbed as the best point guard in the entire class is a huge recruiting win. The guard will be a nice centerpiece for the next potential Sweet 16 team in Raleigh. He will be a hard player to defend when playing to his potential and gives Keatts tons of flexibility on offense.
