James Wiseman is one of the best recruits in the 2019 class. Now that he has narrowed his list to five, which NCAA basketball schools are still in the running?

2019 recruiting is heating up around the country. There is no doubt about that. Several top recruits have announced their college decisions in recent weeks and there are more on the way. In fact, perhaps the most important recruit of them all, James Wiseman (No. 1 overall), is nearing his eventual decision. On Oct. 3, the 7-footer trimmed his remaining list of schools to just five:

Quite simply, Wiseman should be the top priority for each one of these schools. Thanks to his size and unique skill set, Wiseman is the type of program-changing recruit that does not come along all that often. Sure, programs like Duke and Kentucky are accustomed to landing five-star recruits but each one is an impressive addition to the roster. And, with regards to Wiseman, this is no different.

As a player, Wiseman is seemingly oozing NBA potential. Thanks to tantalizing physical measurements and outstanding athleticism, it is no secret why Wiseman is projected to be a stud in the pros. On the EYBL circuit this summer, Wiseman played in 21 contests for Bluff City Legends. He averaged 15.2 points (.502/.148/.554), 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.

For reference, 247Sports lists Memphis and Kentucky as the two favorites to land Wiseman at this time. Out of the 20 crystal ball predictions on the site, the Tigers hold 14 while the Wildcats have six. However, it would be a mistake to rule out the other three schools in Wiseman’s final five. Here is a look at each program and how Wiseman might fit with their 2019-20 rosters.
