David McCormack

David McCormack is an absolute beast inside. The strength he poses is something that very few players in the country have. He also has solid quickness for somebody his size.

That said he doesn’t have a great offensive game other than what he can do inside the paint. Bill Self is one of those coaches that can still get his guys to make a big impact when their offensive game is limited.

Just look at Udoka Azubuike, he doesn’t do much other than Dunk and he still dominates inside. McCormack has the potential to have a similar impact when he’s given a shot to potentially start after Azubuike leaves Kansas.

McCormack likely isn’t gonna have a big role this season. Some think he should play over Mitch Lightfoot or even as the backup five instead of De Sousa, that isn’t going to happen though. Those two guys played well last season and will take a lot for McCormack to earn their minutes.

He will get some time early in the season. When we get into conference play and Self shortens his rotation, look for McCormack to be left out of it.
