Northwestern Basketball coach Chris Collins has received commitments from two top 2019 prospects on back-to-back days recently.

Three-star recruit Jared Jones and four-star Robbie Beran have agreed to join the Northwestern Basketball for the 2019 season. Jones verbally committed to the Wildcats on Sunday while Beran pledged to the Wilcats on Monday.

Jones essentially picked Northwestern over Wake Forest, according to Dan McDonald of Rivals. He officially visited Wake Forest on Sept. 21, which was a week after he took an official visit to Northwestern. Georgia, Minnesota and Mississippi State also appeared to have had serious interest in the 6-foot-9, 230-pound big man, who holds a total of 18 offers.

Jones spoke to 247Sports about his commitment.

"“I’m headed to Northwestern. The reason I picked them is because it’s just a really good school. I love basketball and I have a real love for basketball, but at the same time I want to be secure with every aspect of my life and I feel like that’s the best spot for me.”"

The former Auburn commit is ranked 180th in the Class of 2019 by 247 Composite and 131st by 247Sports. He is not ranked nationally by either ESPN or Rivals, but is among the top-50 power forwards by both recruiting services.

Jones, who is athletically and physically gifted, can play either the four or five positions. The Powder Springs (Ga.) product is a good rebounder and rim protector. His offensive game is still coming around, although he has shown to have a nice touch around the rim. Additionally, he can score from the perimeter. One concern is that Jones had a serious knee injury two years ago.
