2. What impact will the three freshman recruits have?

Since taking over as the Head Coach at Creighton in 2010, Greg McDermott has excelled in recruiting and he has produced three NBA draft picks in the past four seasons. Along with graduate-transfer Connor Cashaw, the Bluejays welcome three incoming freshman recruits.

Four-star guard Marcus Zegarowski comes in as the Bluejays top recruit and will look to add depth to the Bluejays backcourt. Ranked in the ESPN top 100, Zegarowski is praised for his dedication to the game and determination to get better.

Zegarowski will work in at point guard behind Davion Mintz and Ty-Shon Alexander. He is the typical Creighton recruit, a sharpshooter. Zegarowski excels with the ball in his hands and has shown that he can score from anywhere on the court.

Three-star, Australian forward Sam Froling will join the Bluejays this season and will become McDermott’s next “big man project”. McDermott is known for the work he has done with big men after sending breakout star forward Justin Patton to the NBA. Froling aims to become the next breakout in the Bluejays frontcourt.

Three-star small-forward Christian Bishop chose the Bluejays over Kansas, Wichita St, and Missouri. Bishop looks to add additional athleticism, quickness and three-point shooting to the Bluejays lineup.

Look for this talented recruiting class to mimic last seasons freshman group as they should all play key roles for the Jays at some point this season.
