This West Virginia Basketball team has a chance to be special. To do so they’re gonna need to replace some key players from last years team.

Whenever you lose two guys who mean as much to a team as Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles meant to this West Virginia team you’re gonna struggle to replace them.

The Mountaineers are always one of the deepest teams in the country and they’ll use that to their advantage this season more so than they did this past year.

They bring back one of the best interior defenders in the country in Sagaba Konate. Add in the full court press they run with all their quick guards and they’ll rely on their defense while they find a leader on the offensive end.

They bring in a very good recruiting class with multiple guys who are capable of playing right away. The Mountaineers recruiting class is ranked 26th in the country and 3rd in the Big 12 according to 247sports.

This team will wear down their opponents like they do every year. They might not have that star on offense they have had with Carter but they have many guys who can make plays. The offense will be plenty good enough to win them a lot of games.

At the forward spot is where West Virginia should have an advantage over almost everybody. They are so deep at that spot. Guys like Lamont West, Wesley Harris and Esa Ahmad all return and are expected to have big roles. While freshman Emmitt Matthews has a chance to play a big role as well.
