New head coach Chris Mack has made huge strides already in recruiting with Louisville Basketball. The latest commit comes from Ireland with top-100 center Aidan Igiehon.
The Chris Mack-led Louisville Cardinals have been experiencing a load of positive momentum on the recruiting trail. It’s no secret anymore about the scandals that took place within the basketball program under old head coach Rick Pitino. The scandal is ever going to be in the back of the minds of Louisville fans everywhere, especially when you have a national brand like the Cardinals do.
Mack comes to Louisville after a successful stint at Xavier, he takes over for the interim head coach and former Louisville player David Padgett. He led the Cardinals to an NIT berth in what was deemed a disappointing season by Cardinals standards. Mack takes over a roster this season that does not appear to be the powerhouse Louisville basketball team everyone is accustomed to. While the cupboard may be somewhat bare in the 2018 season, 2019 is an entirely different story.
Friday morning coach Mack received his most important commitment while the coach at Louisville. That player was 4-star big man Aidan Igiehon. The commitment of the big man moves the 2019 recruiting class for the Cardinals up to No.2 in the country. Igiehon completes the five-player class, and it’s the start of the resurgence of the Cardinals basketball program.
