Davidson lost several pieces to its 2017-18 team that earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Can the Wildcats still do damage in the Atlantic 10 this year?

The 2017-18 season was Davidson’s second-best since joining the Atlantic-10 Conference and marked the program’s fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last seven seasons. The Wildcats captured their first conference tournament title in a one-point victory over No. 25 Rhode Island. In the big dance, the Davidson Wildcats fell just shy of defeating the Wildcats of 5-seeded Kentucky in the Round of 64.

The Wildcats may have lost star forward Peyton Aldridge, who led the group in scoring (21.2 points per game) and rebounding (7.6 rebounds per game), but Davidson does still return very promising pieces from last season, including freshman phenom Kellan Grady. By surprise, Grady emerged as one of the most elite scorers in the country and is now a name NBA scouts are talking about. Davidson’s other two guards, who you’ll hear extensively about later, bring even more elite scoring to the table.

Davidson hopes to contend for the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title this year with one of the most intriguing trios in all of college basketball this season. It isn’t much of a stretch to say that, with the talent they have this season, the Wildcats may return to the NCAA Tournament.

How dominant can Davidson be this year? I break everything down from lineups to big questions and their non-conference schedule.
