The 2018-19 NCAA Basketball season is under one month away. Which teams belong in the preseason top-25 and how might each team perform?

The 2018-19 NCAA basketball season is nearly upon us. With less than two weeks to go until the season openers, it is finally time to seriously get excited about the upcoming year. After months and months of anticipation, the new season is almost here and there are several major storylines to follow. Of course, the games on the court are always the most important but there are seemingly going to on-going developments with the FBI Investigation and recruiting is a 365-day cycle.

Throughout this upcoming season, I will be posting weekly power ranking updates of the top-25 teams at the current point in time (in my opinion) with 10 others to watch for. For this preseason edition, I will break down each of my top-25 teams as well as a paragraph on each of the other teams I strongly considered for the list. This includes reasoning for where they stand in my preseason list as well as a discussion on who each team’s most important players might be.

This season seriously cannot come quickly enough so let’s break down who some of the top teams in the nation might be for the 2018-19 season. As is the case with every preseason rankings, these include teams that return a ton of talent from last year and those that are relying on the immediate impacts of elite recruiting classes. There is bound to be subjectivity in this but preseason rankings are always a fun exercise to go through.
