Oregon basketball head coach Dana Altman has assembled a tremendous roster for this upcoming campaign. How far can the Ducks go?

After reaching the Final Four in 2017, Oregon basketball failed to replicate that success this past season. Despite a strong returning core, the Ducks struggled throughout the year and missed the NCAA Tournament altogether for the first time since 2013. This was, without a doubt, a disappointing year for Oregon hoops even though the team still recorded a solid 23-13 record. Heading into this season, fans out west have to be expecting that the Ducks reach the Big Dance this time around.

And, considering the amount of talent on the roster, this should be done with relative ease. Elijah Brown, Troy Brown, and MiKyle McIntosh may be gone but the Ducks not only return a fair amount of talent but also bring in one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. Headlined by Bol Bol, this freshmen class more than belongs in the same breath as the recruiting classes of Duke and Kentucky. Quite simply, Coach Altman did an incredibly job securing talented players for this season to join his wily vets.

Oregon is ranked in just about every single preseason poll across the internet with a few writers going as far as to say they belong in the top-10. While this may be a bit of a stretch due to the struggles last season and the youth of this roster, the Ducks are clearly talented. In the preseason AP poll, Oregon came in ranked at No. 14 in the nation.

Now, without any further ado, let’s jump into previewing this upcoming campaign for Oregon basketball.
