Top-50 2019 recruit Boogie Ellis has announced his final five schools. How would he potentially impact each of the NCAA basketball programs remaining?

With the upcoming season approaching quickly, 2019 NCAA basketball recruiting is heating up as programs are hoping to secure commits prior to taking the court. And while several programs have already landed elite players, many of the nation’s top recruits are still available. Perhaps the most pressing recruitment in the nation at this moment, though, is that of 6-foot-2 combo guard Boogie Ellis.

Ranked as the No. 35 recruit in the 2019 class, it is no secret that several elite programs are recruiting Ellis. Additionally, he backed up his high recruiting ranking on the EYBL circuit this summer with the Oakland Soldiers. While competing in 23 total contests, Ellis averaged 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on blistering shooting splits (FG%/3P%/FT%): .446/.458/.804.

Based on scouting reports and incredible statistical outputs, Ellis is clearly one of the most highly sought-after guards in the country. He will also be an immediate difference-maker as a freshman in 2019-20. And considering he has not only narrowed his list of schools to five but also announced his commitment date as Nov. 9, his recruitment is heating up in a hurry.

Here are the five programs still involved in Ellis’ recruitment:

There are clearly some elite-level programs still hunting a commitment from Ellis. A California native, Ellis has a geographically scattered group of teams remaining and it will be interesting to see how much of an impact location has on his decision. Of course, though, there will be several factors that go into where Ellis ends up committing in a few short days.

Now, without any further ado, let’s dive into how Ellis may fit or impact each program remaining in his recruitment.
