Who will be the most fun-to-watch NCAA Basketball teams in the 2018-19 season? Here are five to keep an eye on.

With Duke’s historic recruiting class, Trae Young’s rise to becoming a superstar and UMBC’s inconceivable victory over No. 1 Virginia in the NCAA Tournament, college basketball’s 2018-19 season was most certainly a fun one.

The season also saw several teams emerge as powerhouses out of the blue. Tennessee’s rise is particularly interesting, as the Volunteers weren’t even in the Top 25 conversation initially yet finished at No. 13 in the final rankings and earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Moreover, Ohio State and Michigan both weren’t listed in the Top 25 for the first ten weeks of the season, but Ohio State stunned the nation with Keita Bates-Diop helping his team peak at No. 8 in the Top 25 while the Wolverines marched on to the NCAA Tournament Finals.

The most noteworthy emergence, however, might be out of Chicago, where Loyola-Chicago became the fourth No. 11 ever to reach the Final Four. The Ramblers’ success didn’t end there; Loyola-Chicago was ranked No. 26 in the Preseason AP Top 25 being three votes shy of cracking the top-25.

The anticipation for this year’s college basketball season is perhaps the highest its been in recent memory. A prominent recruiting class highlighted by R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson will enter college and attract considerable attention. Moreover, plenty of talent across the country returns from last season led by 2017-18 Third-Team All-Americans in Carsen Edwards of Purdue, Kyle Guy of Virginia, and Luke Made of North Carolina. Additionally, the Martin brothers from Nevada, Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield of Tennessee, and Mike Daum of South Dakota State (23.9 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game) are all back for their respective squads.

With high expectations for the 2018-19 college basketball season, who will be the most exciting teams to watch? I break down five teams that you will love watching this year:
