UNC Basketball looks to avenge the team’s loss to Wofford last season. What are the keys to the Tar Heels avoiding another upset?

The first day of the college basketball season is upon us. The day can bring about mixed emotions from fans, as the fans wonder which teams are going to live up to expectations and which teams are going to take the bad losses which will eliminate them from at large tourney contention.

The Tar Heel program has expectations each year, this year those expectations hope to turn into final four aspirations, as they enter the season ranked in the top 10. North Carolina has a roster that will finish near the top of the ACC conference and will get a high seed in the NCAA tournament in March. The Tar Heels also have the potential player of the year and freshman of the year in the conference. North Carolina and Coach Roy Williams are hoping to parlay these things into the usual success the program always has.

The first game of the season for the Tar Heels is not going to be the usual cupcake that many teams schedule. The Tar Heels have scheduled a mid-major school who hails from Spartanburg, South Carolina in the Wofford Terriers. They have been picked by many as an early season favorite in the Southern Conference. The Terriers have who many consider to be the best shooter in college basketball on their roster in Fletcher Magee.

They’ll have North Carolina’s attention as Wofford pulled off the biggest upset in their schools history last year when they defeated North Carolina. Wofford has the team to beat the Tar Heels again, if North Carolina is not ready to play. The following three things are going to be the biggest keys for North Carolina as they look to move to 1-0 on the young season.
