Duke Basketball takes on the Army Knights after destroying Kentucky. What are the keys for the Blue Devils to avoid a letdown?
After a dismantling of the number two team in the country, who were the Kentucky Wildcats. The Duke Blue Devils return to the hardwood for another game. This time the game is against a much lesser opponent than Kentucky. Duke returns to Durham to take on the Army Black Knights. Duke should have no trouble dispatching this opponent.
The Blue Devils appear to be the real deal after one game. It is not often that a program like Kentucky experiences a defeat of that magnitude. Coach K has built a juggernaut this year led by three super freshmen in Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish. Those three players will have a hand in almost every victory that Duke is able to tally this season.
Duke like many blue blood programs faces expectations every single year. After the performance on Tuesday night those expectations may have changed for some, even if it is after one game. Odds are the Army program is going to be over matched and will most likely suffer a large defeat at the hands of Blue Devils. After winning by over 30 points against Kentucky, another 30-point win will probably happen.
Army does have three players who can score at a high level. All those players would need to have a career game for this game to even remain close. The Army program has never experienced much success and they play a style of basketball that could lead to easy transition buckets for Duke. It could get ugly if Army does not make shots. If Army is able to score and make some shots, they may be able to stay in this game for a little longer than Duke would like. Coach K is going to want Duke to improve each game they play this year. The following three keys are things Duke needs to do in order to get better and take care of Army.
