Kansas Basketball heads into New York City as the favorite in NIT Season Tip-off. What are the keys for the Jayhawks to winning the event?

It is not surprising that Kansas is still undefeated and holding the number two spot in the country in the AP Poll. While the Les Miles hire has excited many, Lawerence still belongs to Kansas Basketball. Especially at this time of the year.

After spending the last few seasons in the Sprint Center for their holiday tournament, the Jayhawks travel to New York for a great NIT season tip-off slate.

The Field: #2 Kansas, #5 Tennessee, Marquette, and Lousiville.

The Matchups: Kansas vs Marquette, and Lousiville vs Tennesee.

For Kansas, things have not been hunky dory despite the 3-0 record. The Jayhawks will take on Marquette on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles came into the year ranked 24th in the nation before getting bounced from the top twenty-five after they were embarrassed by a short-handed Indiana squad.

If things fall into place the way many expect them to, it will be Bill Self’s Jayhawks taking on Rick Barnes’ Volunteers on Black Friday for the NIT season tipoff title, giving us a #2 vs #5 matchup.
