After two weeks, we are starting to see some conferences rise to the top and others disappoint. Which conference will take the top spot and have any dropped out?
In our preseason rankings of the basketball conferences, the ACC was the top dog with the Big East and the Big 12 right on their heels. The Big Ten was trying to repair its reputation and the SEC was trying to prove it was for real. The Pac-12 was just trying to show it was relevant again.
There appeared to be some mid-major conferences that were right on the edge of being able to play with the big boys. So far it appears there are a couple that might be able to keep up but a few others have fallen short of those expectations so far.
These rankings are based on where each conference is currently not necessarily where we think they will be. The type of losses and the marquee wins they have will weigh heavily into where each conference will fall.
Can the ACC hold on to the top spot and how far has the Big East fallen after a disastrous second week? Has the Big Ten climbed any after a great week and has the SEC proven to be worthy?
Let’s take a look.
