UCF Knights

The preseason favorite to win the AAC, the Knights got off to a bit of a rough start to the new season with a loss to Florida Atlantic in the second game of the year. Yet, UCF has bounced back well. They have won four consecutive contests since that defeat, many of them coming against quality competition. And while they might not have one resume-defining win to this point in the year, they have picked up some nice victories along the way so far.

Wins over Cal State Fullerton, Saint Joseph’s, Western Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky might not jump off the page but they are wins that should improve their resume by the end of the year. The Knights are winning, as expected, with their defense to this point in the season and it is reasonable to project that that end of the floor can keep them in AAC title contention.

Four upperclassmen lead the way in scoring for the Knights so far this season as double-digit scorers. B.J. Taylor (15.5 points) has been the leading scorer for the season while 7-foot-6 senior Tacko Fall is averaging 11.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in just 21.8 minutes per game. He is the anchor to their elite defense while junior guard Terrell Allen can be a menace on the perimeter.
