Nebraska Basketball has a tough game against the Clemson Tigers in the ACC/Big Ten Classic. What are the keys for a Cornhuskers victory?

The Big Ten/ACC challenge is one of the better non-tournament events of the early basketball season. The two conferences are filled with powerhouse basketball programs, and this tournament always features its share of tremendous match ups. The tournament kicks off on Monday night and one of the early matchups has huge implications for both teams.

When Nebraska travels to Clemson on Monday night, both teams are fresh off losses to power conference schools. These losses exposed different things for both schools. The Tigers and the Huskers are both expected to contend in their conferences, and for that to happen both teams are going to have fixed their flaws.

Clemson is a team who made the tournament a year ago and has virtually that entire roster back. Nebraska won a school record 13 conference games to go along with a 22-10 overall record. The Huskers were left out of the tournament because their 22 wins lacked substance. A year ago, Nebraska had a problem winning these types of games. If Nebraska wants any chance to make the tournament and get a good seed these are the games, they need to win.

The Huskers have a great core from last years team returning. Their depth is still developing and is still a question. The core four players can give any team a challenge and poses matchup problems for many of the teams they play. If the Huskers want to escape Clemson with a win, they will need to play much better than their last game against a power conference school. If they focus on the following three things their chances for a win should increase.
