LeBron James clued us in at Bronny’s potential future after Duke Basketball’s Mike Krzyzewski defended his players in a post-game press conference.

Mike Krzyzewski held a post-game press conference Tuesday night after their win versus the Indiana Hoosiers.

In the press conference Krzyzewski defended his current players, especially Duke star R.J. Barrett who was criticized after their loss to Gonzaga.  Krzyzewski stated, “Barrett wasn’t playing hero’s ball. He was playing winner’s ball.”

LeBron James responded to these comments saying “Hope he’s still at the helm when my boy comes up.” These comments by James got Blue Devil fans excited at the thought of Bronny (LeBron James Jr) playing in Durham, NC. The Cameron Crazies would love having the young talent on campus.

Bronny is an eighth-grader and is apart of the 2023 recruiting class. Coast 2 Coast Preps currently has Bronny ranked #24 in his class. As an eight-grader he has plenty of time to improve his game and ranking.

Krzyzewski would be in his late 70’s if he were to stick around until Bronny entered college. Bronny would be a freshman for the 2023-24 season, unless NBA draft rules change.

Lately, James has spoken of his interest in playing with his son in the NBA according to Chris Bengel from 247Sports. This would mean that James would have to continue to play until he is roughly 40 years old.

As of now high-school players are not allowed to immediately enter the NBA draft, however, Adam Silver has spoken of changing this rule sometime after the year 2021. If this rule is changed, this could allow for Bronny to skip college and join the NBA immediately.

For now Blue Devil fans are trying to focus on their 2018-19 star-studded freshman class, but that can be hard when recruiting is constantly in motion.  Especially when you’re dreaming of James’ son joining their historical program.

The Blue Devils next game is versus Stetson on Saturday, December 1. This game will played at approximately 7:00 PM ET on ESPN 2.
