Limit Carsen Edwards

Edwards entered the year as a preseason All-American and a favorite to win national player of the year. So far he has not disappointed averaging 25.1 ppg and shooting nearly 40% from outside. He has scored over 20 points in every game except one. He can beat you off the dribble and from outside. He is without a doubt the focus of the Boilermakers offense.

The Wolverines are not going to be able to completely shut him down, but they need to keep him from getting hot. Edwards has the ability to take over a game and showed flashes of it last year. When he gets rolling he can put up a lot of points quickly. When this happens it opens up the rest of Purdue’s offense and allows for other guys to get open shots.

Last year Michigan did a good job on Edwards as he scored just 19, 13, and 12 points in their three matchups. If they can do that again on Saturday they should be in good shape.

Expect Charles Matthews to be matched up on him a lot or even Zavier Simpson. Either way look for the Wolverines to hound him all day and make someone else try and beat them.
